PhD Student in Jurisprudence and Social Policy
My research explores property law through the lens of public-private tensions in historical cases and contemporary disputes. Specifically, I focus on the relationship between commercial interests and judicial interpretations to shape legal doctrines. I am also interested in how state power intersects with private property rights in eminent domain cases.
Before coming to Berkeley, I worked as a literacy specialist and instructor at Carnegie Mellon University, Qatar. While there, I proudly created and edited Carnegie Mellon Qatar Creates, لنبدع, a literary and art journal for students, staff, and faculty.
I have also worked as a communication consultant at the Global Communication Center at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and as a writing tutor at the University of Hawai‘i.
